If we don't tell our stories, our stories will tell us. Our stories will impact us either unconsciously or consciously. It's up to us to decide whether we'll be passive recipients or active agents in shaping our lives.

ABOUT THERAPY
Entering therapy is a brave step towards self-discovery and healing. It takes courage to open up about your life and begin to explore the depths of your story. But by taking this step, you are giving yourself the opportunity to grow and thrive in ways you may not have thought possible.
Therapy offers a confidential space to explore your feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations and begin to understand the messages your mind and body are communicating to you. Often people feel a pain inside they are unable to understand or articulate. Perhaps you're frustrated and beginning to feel hopeless or helpless to change. Transformation and change is possible but it is a process, not an event.
This process involves experiencing a corrective relational experience with your therapist (connection and safety), moments of revelation, your life being witnessed and of deepening self-compassion. This is the power of therapy.

With You Every Step of the Way
Children often communicate their inner world through play more naturally than through words. Play therapy provides a safe and developmentally appropriate way for children ages 6 and older to express emotions, process difficult experiences, and build the skills needed to navigate relationships and challenges. Through guided play, creative expression, and age-appropriate therapeutic activities, children are able to explore feelings, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop healthier ways of understanding themselves and the world around them.

Relationships can be one of the most meaningful and challenging parts of our lives. At Formation Counseling Center, couples counseling provides a space where partners can slow down, understand one another more deeply, and work through patterns that may be creating distance, conflict, or disconnection. Whether you are navigating communication difficulties, recurring conflict, life transitions, betrayal, or simply feeling stuck in the relationship, couples therapy offers an opportunity to rebuild connection and strengthen the foundation of your partnership.

Family therapy helps families work through a variety of issues, such as communication breakdowns and behavioral problems in children. The therapist works with the family as a unit to develop effective coping strategies and improve their relationships with one another. By addressing the root causes of their conflicts, families can learn to communicate more openly and honestly, and build stronger, healthier bonds.

Through one-on-one sessions, individuals (ages 15+) can explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship issues, or simply feeling stuck, individual therapy can help you gain clarity, develop coping skills, and move forward towards a more fulfilling life.

Cross cultural transitions can be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. Whether you are moving a new country for work or study, or simply navigating the complexities of living in a multicultural society, there are many opportunities for personal growth and learning.

Group therapy is a type of therapy where multiple people with similar issues or concerns come together to work on their individual goals and receive support from one another.
It is led by a trained therapist and can provide a sense of community, understanding, and connection for participants.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a psychotherapy treatment that is proven to be effective in addressing trauma. This process helps to reprocess a traumatic memory in a way that reduces its intensity and emotional impact on an individual in
the present day.

Attachment-based parenting emphasizes building a strong emotional bond between parents and their children. It involves being responsive to a child's needs and providing a safe and secure environment that fosters healthy development. By prioritizing the attachment bond, parents can create a strong foundation for their child's future
well-being.
